Taking care of your eyes

A tired, dry and sore eyes suffer from eyestrain.

And eyestrain are not just ordinary stressful and you can not just neglect it with just relaxing your eyes or washing it to cool off.

Eyestrain may be a cause of astigmatism to jaw problems.  Many may not know it but, we all have a slight astigmatism and it is a vision defect that is caused by the curvature of the cornea.

Astigmatism are corrected with the proper eyeglasses or contact lenses.

But if you do not want to use eyeglasses or contact lenses, what eye exercise can you do in taking care of your vision?

Here are some easy tips that you can do to help maintain a good and healthy eye vision.

  • In reading at night, make sure that you are using the right light that can not harm your eyes.Too much light or too dark light makes your eyes stressed. See to it that your eyes will feel comfortable with the light that you use.

  • Avoid direct exposure to the sunlight. Specially in summer, there are too many that are suffering from sore eyes and eye irritation.  Always protect your eyes by using sunglasses.  This protects your eyes from the harmful UV rays of the sun.

  • If you are a bookworm or your work needs lots of research from books and in front of the computer, see to it that you have to take a break for half an hour or so and rest your eyes.  Stand up, do a little exercise.  It will also be good for your posture.
  • There are some eye irritation or sore eyes that we can self medicate using home medicines.  Washing your face to cool off your eyes and relax.  But if the irritation is too much that you can’t self medicate it, do not let it pass too long. Go to your doctor prescribe you the right medication to prevent spreading of the virus.

These are just simple tips in taking care of our eyes.  It’s not that hard but always, never take for granted your eyes.  Remember, our eyes are the windows to the world.
