Natural Ways in Preventing Gum Diseases

th (1)People with periodontal disease or gum disease suffers from inflammation of the gums or gingivitis. People with this disease experiences blood while brushing the teeth, painful gums, bad breath, red gums and swelling.

The last stage of having this disease can cause tooth loss caused by the bacterial infection in the gums.

Poor oral hygiene is the number one factor of having gum disease.  Other, being a chain smoker, diabetic, genetics and hormonal changes can be a cause having this disease.

There are natural / herbal remdies to cure and prevent gum diseases.

  • Baking Soda – mix with water, it will create a paste like substance and rub it to your gums with your fingers

  • Aloe Vera – rub its gel on the gums and leave it for awhile then gargle.  Continue this procedure until the swelling subsides.

  • Garlic - chew raw garlic, it has a very strong taste and burns when you chew it, but it works. Chew the garlic as long as you can.

  • Lemon juice – lemons are rich in vitamin C and this can fight the diseases that causes gum inflammation. Squeeze the lemon and add little amount of salt.  Apply it to your gums with your fingers, leave it for awhile then gargle.

  • Green Tea – drinking green tea helps prevent gum problems.  Drink at least 2 glasses of green tea daily.

  • Clove Oil – apply and rub it to your gums.  It has a burning sensation in the beginning but it will surely help fight gum diseases.

  • Tea Trea Oil - it is an effective antiseptic. Rub the tea tree oil in you gums to prevent gum diseases and help alleviate its symptoms.

  • White Willow – it minimizes gum pain caused by the bacteria.  It reduces the inflammation of the gums and provides soothing effect.
